Yes, it doesn’t matter which animal’s eyes is considered in the case of an onion. The tears are caused when the chemical (Z)-propanethial S-oxide present in onion is released when it is cut. This chemical is highly soluble in water and tears(lubricating agent of eye) of the eyes. This chemical reaction excites the tear glands and tears are produced in the eyes of any animal. Therefore it doesn’t matter which animal is considered, the cat’s eyes too will get irritated.
