IS tea better if made in the cup, or made in a teapot then poured?
I'd say teapots are the way to go, I don't know why but for me tea tastes better when made in a teapot..
It's WAYYY better made in a teapot..
Teapot then poured (or in my case teapot then stewed more often than not).
definitely made in a teapot (prewarmed) poured into a warmed mug/cup – so hot = so good.
teapot gos without saying i mean its just so much better; plus with a tea pot you get multipule cups of tea instead of just one… more tea is ALWAYS a bonus!
Teapot all the way.
Teapot wins hands down. Especially when left to brew properly.
and no tea bag.
Tea leaves is the only way to go.
I find absolutely no difference. The advantage of a teapot is simply more tea to drink. And easier when you have five people to deal with.
What with everyone liking different strengths and varieties, I always go for in the cup, with tea leaves in a tea strainer. That way each cup of tea is uniquely tailored, and you don't end up with it just getting colder and more stewed with each cup. Anyway, when my dad uses a pot he never uses a tea strainer, resulting in that final glorious mouthful of tea actually being a surprise medley of swollen leaf bits, meaning choking and bitter disappointment, or having to spit it out and reswallow by straining it through your teeth. Ugh…
Loose leaves in a french coffee press… minimum pieces, maximum brewing.
Teapots all the way! my best friend bought me one for uni, i couldn't live without it!
Teapot…but the teapot has to be used exclusively for ONE kind of tea and should only be cleaned with boiling water. After awhile, you'll get the best cup of tea out of that teapot… If you're going to put the teapot in the dishwasher, or scrub it down with soap, you might as well just use a mug directly!
Teapot, has to be a china one, warmed with hot water before the tea leaves are added, hot water poured in and left to steep for as long or short as you want it (My rule of thumb is no more that 2 1/2mins (cos where i am we have hard water) and poured through a strainer. Like the teapot, it too should be used exclusively for one kind of tea!
Tea bags are only acceptable if you are in a hurry, but NO-ONE should hurry the drinking of a Cuppa!!!
AWWWWW TEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Also it makes me very sad to go to the teapot and find that someone has left teabags in there from a previous brew and they have become mouldey!! :'( its tea pot ABUSE!!!!
Yes I prefer tea made in a teapot :) Tastes way nicer!
teapots are way better. but if youre short of time you cant appreciate a teapot as much!
im sipping some teapot yorkshire tea atm, very enjoyable
i prefer cup then i can tell if its brewed the way i like it by the colour.
Much better in a teapot. Especially in one of the CorningWare teapots that you can leave on the stove to keep warm.
To me, it tastes slightly better when made in a teapot, but I rarely have the time for that luxury.
tea is best when made in a pot, no question. the pot has to be covered with a tea cosy as well, preferably a wooly one. however herbal teas are fine made in a cup with a bag, or else you'd have a tea pot for every different kind of tea wouldn't you?
the problem that most people make when making tea in a cup is to leave the teabag to brew as long as they would if in a pot! to make a absolutely cracking cuppa in a mug you just have to leave the teabag for a few seconds, give it a good squeeze and your done!! you know you've gone to far if the tea is too red when you add the milk.
The first cup of tea out of a teapot is better, but if you then decide you want another cup, the second one is always stewed and a bit crap.
Someone bought a 'one cup' teapot once, failing to see the obvious logic that if you're going to make a single cup of tea in a teapot, you might just as well make it in the cup.
