Suitable names for the children or pets of tea lovers.

Tannin would be an ideal name for a son. (Sounds a bit like the Stargate character "Taneth".) Ideally, he would have tannin-coloured hair, but hopefully not tannin-stained teeth.
My husband, an avid tea drinker, is sometimes referred to as my darjeeling.

There is Jasmin of course. A great tea and a nice name for a daughter or a cat.

For all the messy tea-drinkers in the house we could have Spot – for a pet of course… although I wouldn't put anything past the celebs. lol.

=]

How about Oolong? It should make a nifty name for a sweet little girl, or a sprightly bunny rabbit – okay, well that's been done, but Oolong the rabbit is soooo cute!
.
Rooibos sounds like a name for a ginger tom, or a great name to suggest to an in-law.
.
There's also Formosa. Lovely name for a friendly wombat, or a mild-tempered child.

There are few children I d happily re-named Peurh.

Camellia would be nice for a girl.

Teabag for a cat.

Rosie for a girl (as in Rosie Lee, tea (for the international tea drinker unfamiliar with Cockney rhyming slang).

Stew for a boy.

Assam for a cat or Earl and Lady Grey.

pepper – peppermint
herbie – herbal
chai
chrys – chrysanthemum
china – well, related to tea, we drink it out of china cups right?
I second jasmine, it's a great girl's name, and also
Rose
teapot – name for a rotund cat perhaps?

son named teabag…

Just recently met a lovely little Brittany Spaniel with orangey brown markings….her name is Pekoe (like Orange Pekoe).

teabagger? teabagged?

Steep? As in Meryl ; 0 >

Yerba sounds quite dignified, for a delicate little girl, or a donkey :)
cant use Yerba MatE in Australia – it would end up as Yerba, mate.

I had a patient at the vet hospital called Teabag – most evil cat I've ever met. Think he could have done with some sugar to sweeten him up!

an evil cat called teabag- thats megatonnage of awesome. I'd be wary of sleeping with such a cat around.

India an obvious one, my Mum teaches a girl by that name, apparently it's getting popular again.

My name could be shortened to Char.

Since India is so rich in tea, perhaps any Indian city name could be used?
Chennai, Mumbai, Assansol, Calcutta…
also Bengal, Jamshitpur.
One would avoid Pakistani cities like Lahore, obviously :)

Britanny Spaniel? Sounds like a chav!

Ty Phoo for a siamese cat!

I thought I knew what a chav was (based on info received from English fb friends, and a photo of a group of apparently inebriated young men, with a caption that read: "Chavs hanging around Swindon carpark"….now I'm not so sure. Pekoe, the Brittany Spaniel was a noisely little thing, lovely to look at but barked a great deal.

There are female chavs, too…they breed…rapidly…

Is it supposed to be "chauv"?
I could imagine a group of male Chauvs hanging around a carpark.

I've heard of dogs called Tippy (as in Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe).
Some of the tea-grading acronyms might work for pets too:
OP – Orange Pekoe
FOP – Flowery Orange Pekoe
BOP – Broken Orange Pekoe

TGFOP- Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe doesn't really work for me. But if you're used to speaking a language with lots of consonants and few vowels…..I'll have to run it by my Dutch friends. ; )

What about Prince? Short for Prince of Wales – I'm brewing a cup right now.
Or Earl, or Lady….as in the 'Greys'
I think Earl would be a good name for a Bassett hound. If you had a pair of Bassett hounds you could name one Earl and one Lady.

I read a series recently where the main character had named her dog
Earl Grey

granted she owned a tea shop

Y'all be careful about giving strange names to your kids…(like teabag or loose-leaf or any such name). Courts can get involved and you could be knee deep in trouble:

They call me Mr. Tea
