Count Your Calories

In today’s era everybody wants to stay fit and healthy. They want to remain in good shape. They wish to have slim and toned bodies. To achieve this ideal, people often spend money like water. They go to gym or buy expensive treadmills etc. For girls it has become a dream to achieve zero-size figure. But this is not is not going to help them until and unless they don’t know how many calories they consume daily. Now, people are mostly glued to their laptops. They are not into any type of physical activities so they have to reduce their calorie intake. Even then many health conscious and sports freaks are involved in activities like walking, running, playing volleyball, swimming, exercise etc.

To do this one should have knowledge about the nutrients which the food items have. A normal human body requires about 2,000 – 2,500 calories if they indulge in exercise, physical activities and mental work. If a person walks two miles per hour he/she will burn around 200 calories per hour. When a person who is 100 kg runs a mile he will loose up to 145 calories. A person can lose up to one pound of weight by burning 3500 calories through exercise or by reducing the calorie intake. But there is a very interesting fact that a person burns more calories while sleeping in stead of watching TV or reading a book. But that doesn’t means that a person spends most of the time of the day in sleeping only and doing nothing.

A person who wants to achieve 2000-2500 calories he needs to take 300 gm of carbohydrates, proteins up to 120 gm and fats up to 65 gm in his diet daily. One must know that carbohydrates and proteins consist of 4 calories per gm. But fat contains 9 calories per gm. So we can conclude that a person requires 1200 calorie from carbohydrates, 600 calories from fats and 500 calories from proteins daily. But if somebody is indulged in exercise calorie intake will increase manifolds.
