Season 4 is frustrating!
seriously i LOVE lost and i am a loyal fan….but for some reason the last 3 seasons were more exciting thus far than this season. up until this season every episode left u off w/ a longing to see what happens next…it was an intense wait dying to know what happens….and this season hasn't really done that for me yet. i know i might be impatient but its just been bothering me. the episodes seem so scattered….ugh when is it gonna come together. i hope when the season restarts the intensity level will be back to where it usually is!
I sorta agree. It has become to seperate. I almost wish they would give the day number on the island and show everyone on that day. Instead, you have a story of 1-3 people and have no idea what everyone else is up to. It seems to be becoming more of each person's story rather than the groups story. It used to just be the flashbacks but now everyone is seperate
Wow, you guys actually feel this way? Season 4 is SO AWESOME!
And what are you guys talking about … Every episode has an ending that makes you want to come back for more.
"Hi Mommy…"
"Hi Aaron" …. LOST
"Because I have a man on their boat" … LOST
Ben Sayid working together … LOST
Are just examples of great endings I have seen and remember. They definetely kept me comming back for more.'
The flashforwards ARE SO MUCH BETTER than the flashbacks. Most of the flashbacks for season 3 were so annoying because they didn't tell us a whole lot because there are only so many flashbacks you can do for a character before it gets overdone. The new flashforward aspect ROCKS…Plus this seasons plot is so awesome.
I LOVE SEASON 4 OF LOST! lol ( P.S I know I don't belong in this topic ) =)
I couldn't agree more Kiran.
I was talking to my fiance about Lost yesterday and told her that there are actually people who are disappointed with this season, and she was shocked.
Like you Kiran, I have enjoyed Season 4 more than the previous 3. It's really starting to pick up and the answers are certainly coming, especially now we know how it emerged that the survivors were presumed dead in the first place.
It's all a case of how did Ben eventually get off the island in the flashforwards? are these flashforwards yet to happen or are they telling us what could happen?
And that "man" on the boat…well that shocked me more than anything…I would never have guessed it was Michael (sorry if I spoilt for anyone who hasnt seen it yet!)
But seeing as the next episode is not on until april 24th then we have to wait a long time now…good job I have the game to play until then at least hehe…
Season 4 is great, even if different from the previous one.
i would have to say that season 4 is completely different from the previous three seasons.
and i like it!
This season is so amazing! and we're getting so many answers! Definitely my favourite one so far
this season has been great…there have been plenty of shocking parts such as finding out Jin is dead by hurley and sun going to his grave and its also been touching and suspenseful with episodes such as The Constant
I think season 4 has been great. I find that most of the people who say they don't like this season, say so because they don't get it. Most of the theories and answers we are getting, are honestly over the average viewer's head. So, when I hear that Season 4 is disliked, I blow it off to ignorance.
That's actually almost exactly how I explained it to the little woman.
Well, I wouldn't use the word ignorant, some people just don't understand the material. Not understanding is different from not wanting to understand.
season 4's just too… inconsistent, like it has no resemblance to the previous seasons. Not only do they show flashforwards, but they have weird flashes as well, i.e The Constant, Ji Yeon, Meet Kevin Johnson.
it seems to have abandoned everything from the other seasons. jack said to kate that he loves her, and 3 days later in season 4 he's kissing juliet. 10 or more others were killed on the beach and were buried, yet Jack's group doesnt seem to care and we dont see debris or anything of the explosions.
and the addition of the new station made the geography of the island even more confusing.
other than that though, the season's greater in terms of suspense and revelations, in my opinion.
I just couldn't think of the right word for it, and ignorant was the least offensive.
But what's inconsistent about season 4? … Everything seems to fit for me.
(P.S to answer a previous question, the flashforwards are what WILL happen not what could happen…there is no changing them.)
Weird flashes?…you just listed 3 of the best flashes of the season…
The Constant -> You didn't get emotional when Penny and Des reunited (LMAO) …
Ji Yeon -> Okay common this was an awesome flash … flashback flashforward combo … didn't see that comming!
Meet Kevin Johnson -> How is this weird? … lol they have done flashes like this before. (ex. Micheals On-Island flashbacks and John's On-Island Flashbacks)…
Jack does love Kate but doesn't know where he stands with Sawyer in the picture and now he also has feelings for Juliette. The world isn't so black and white where you say you love someone and that's it. He loves Kate…doesn't really see a future so is moving on to Juliette…Plus Jack told Kate he loved her and she didn't say anything … so what's he supposed to do? … It's unrealistic to expect him to wait for her when he is sure that she loves Sawyer…
The Others have been horrible to Jack's group … they are glad they are dead … They weren't accidental deaths…it was planned…Jack wanted them killed…
"and the addition of the new station made the geography of the island even more confusing."
How? … It's a really big island…
lol ;)
Wow. I need to get a life. lolol
of course i got emotional in the Constant…
ok fine, but i still have complaints about the Ji Yeon flashes. It's like the producers and writers purposely used both flashback and flashforward to shock us, and the flashback was insignificant and actually had no purpose if it stood alone.
You do have one. It just happens to revolve around Lost! LOL
I agree. Season 4 is a huge improvement over season 3. Especially season 3's sloooow start. This season we are also getting some solid answers and understanding of how Ben and the island operate the wider repercussions of whats going on. I'm just mad that the writer's strike shortened the season.
haha =) … I'm fine with that !
I know what you mean..BUT…The flashback could still have a purpose if it stood alone. It kind of compares Jin as a person before the island and now on the island. We really only get to see Jin's full on change in this episode.
The person he was before the island -> He was always angry … he was threatening to kill someone because he took his cab? and for what? .. because he was late in delivering something for Sun's dad …
The person he is now -> He forgives Sun for cheating on him…he realizes the person he was before and is happy with the person he is now.
So from threatening (getting angry at) random people for stupid reasons … to forgiving his wife for infidelity (lol) … is a pretty good flashback.
Still not convinced? … Think of some of the flashes from season 3 that were even worse…ex) The story of Jack's tattoos…
i see season 4 as a way for the writers to prepare us for seasons 5 and 6. i think thats why these episodes seem a bit different than prior seasons. the writers are laying out the groundwork, so we can better understand where this adventure is going.
Not to shock you, just mislead you. Just like Jack talking about his father in the present tense in his flashforward was to mislead the viewer into thinking they were seeing a flashback.
And really, the Jin's flashback was significant, it's just not instantly understandable.
Season 4 is so frustrating because we got to wait another month for the rest!
I agree that season 4 is different, but I really have to say that nearly every episode has left me hanging.
1."Are you Jack"
2."We're here for Benjamin Linus"
Locke:"How do know all this?" Ben:"Because, I have a man on their boat"
3. Sayid working for Ben
4.Aaron is in Kate's care
5.Freaking awesome episode that didn't have a killer endng, but amazing none the less
6. There was a dual flashback-flashfoward episode
7. Michael is Ben's man on the boat(even though I saw it coming, it left me wanting to see how he came to the island)
8. "I'm Ben's daughter!"
All of these are things that pretty much blew my mind when they happened or I figured them out. This is not to mention that season 4 has done an outstanding job at answering questions while bringing new ones out. All together I think that this season has a very different feel to it compared to the first 3 seasons. I still love it and I think that the season seems to have much better pacing than previous seasons. I don't think that we've had 1 filler episode yet this season, and that is something we had several of in previous seasons
My only concern with season 4 is that if they only continue to do flashforwards (which i dont know with the upcoming episode it seems like it will all be DRAMA) is that i hope they dont keep doing the same 5 over and over as in the O6 and it will become a little boring just invloving the same characters. I hope they will go into Des, Sawyer, Locke and so on….
But overall it has been good so far
At this point we aren't supposed to know the fate of those who aren't the members of the six. One of the major mysteries of the season is what happens to those left behind. We don't even know if those who stay on the Island are alive or not.
I humbly believe the main reason I find Season 4 so enjoyable is going back to rewatch the "enhanced" episodes. Sometimes they include useless trivia, but more often than not, they provide valuable insight and clues into what's going on. I only wished ABC started this from the outset of the series. Bottom line is, between the enhanced shows and Lostpedia, I never really feel "Lost", unless the creators really want me to be.
ok i know this is pretty random, but i get frustrated sometimes with how they just drop different things from past seasons and leave them unexplained. like, remember that huge dinosaur thing from season 1 that snatched up and ate that guy in the plane? how do you freak us out with a huge creature like that (not to mention the black cloud monster) and leave it unexplained?
The "monster" that ate the pilot and the black cloud monster are the same thing
Nothing ate the pilot. The smoke monster pulled him out of the cockpit and left him up in a tree.
They don't drop these stories, they just push back the explanation as the answers will reveal too much, too quickly. This isn't Heroes where they have to give you a huge answer every week to keep people interested.
ok gotcha. i haven't watched season 1 or 2 again in a long time so things get fuzzy
