I bought their last one, big mistake. I've never played it more than once; the songs are just stale and uninteresting. I don't know if I should consider checking this one out, although I guess I'll download it…

This pretty much translates to, "We've found a way to ProTools our sound even more this time around. The majority of what you will hear on this album has been created by the producer. So, expect the same song we've written 40 times already with slightly changed lyrics and sped up even more using computers, all meaning one thing, us sounding even shittier as a live band."
Also, the title to this album is laughable. It's like they asked themselves what they could name the album to draw in even more scene kids.

Serioulsy, though their first two albums were pretty good. I still spin "Sonic Firestorm" on occaision, but I'm not holding out any hope for this next one.

The only reason I might buy it is so I can make a tally sheet of how many times the words fire, evermore, storm, endless pain, and fight appear. They are quite possibly one of the most uncreative bands ever.

to me, the name is probably made so that they can have another song on guitar hero, and when you beat the song on expert with drums, it'll say, "ULTRA BEAT CHAMPION!" for mindless promotion.

Wow — I've seen a lot of backlash because TTFAF appeared on Guitar Hero. Actually, I thought the title was a product of a warped sense of humor since it was playing as your band escapes from Hell. ;)
Here's what I think: Guitar Hero doesn't make you an expert guitar player, but then again, playing "Midnight Maximum Tune" doesn't make you an expert driver and playing "House Of The Dead 4" doesn't make you an expert marksman. But it is fun to play, and I'd rather have scene kids listening to real rock, even if it's only 1 or 2 songs by the band, as opposed to listening to that generic horseshit that is rap or hip-hop.
P.S. I actually was listening to that band before GH3 came out — my friend Kevin recommended a Dragonforce song to me in April 2007. Also I got into Lacuna Coil before that because I finally caved in and followed the advice of my friend Bridget in February 2007. :) So I can say I knew them when.

Possibly, but think about it — the only way that you would get anyone to listen to any sort of rock other than Green Day or Red Hot Chili Peppers is through word of mouth on internet boards or hearing it on a game like Guitar Hero.
A couple of years ago you had like 90-95% of kids listening to hip-hop and rap. Why? It's all they knew, basically. MTV only plays that stuff, and most of their peers are listening to it. Now with Guitar Hero, you're seeing more people getting into rock. Kansas even admitted it. They said "Before our song was on Guitar Hero, the only people that saw us play were people in their 40s and 50s. Now we have a lot of younger people going to our shows."
And I admit it. I can't stand rap or hip-hop. I haven't listened to them in the days since… God, around the time that Cypress Hill and Naughty By Nature came out.
