why is it that so many rockers in their later years have cut their hair short? it's such a shame to not see them with long hair anymore, it really symbolizes the fact that their golden years are over. looking through the bands that i listen to, the ones who have cut their hair now include:

well for some people it wasn't that extreme to get their hair cut, (Clapton). Yes all of Metallica getting haircuts was dumb, but sometimes long hair can be a hassle. I know from experience, and I dont regret getting it cut.

because having long hair is really annoying to have. i hate my long hair when i had it, and it's a little past my chin right now and it's alreayd annoying the hell outta me.

maybe they are sick of having long hair. they are not as young as they used to be you know. cutting their hair maybe means that thay are getting older and making better music – more mature. i am not sure.. i personly think long hair is hot….=)

I cut my hair every so often because I get bored of it.

Well, unlike many of thses people, I have long hair and love it, I think its kick ass, but it's a matter of opinion, I mean all my friends who had long hair cut it (save one), and It bothered me at the time, but I mean I got used to the idea, and now I don't give a shit any more, I mean, my brother who grew out his hair with me is cutting iit, when you read this it may be cut, but it don't bother me, I learned that it's simply preference.

i dont see how their hair affects their music, as long as they dont sell out or change their msuci style for the sole purpouse of getting more money or fame, then it doesnt really matter if they have long hair or not.

Most of the pedophiles we see in the news, caught on camera, have short hair, and look "respectable", they don't look like hippies or metalheads..

long hair is kind of a hassle on several occasions. i grew mine from last october to this mid april (until the teaching staff held a meeting about the insane length of my hair and the headmaster actually made me go to his office to talk about my hair and made me cut it). other than teachers always nagging to you about your hair, it gets in the way of shaving, it keeps you very warm and gets in your eyes when you're playing sports, it makes you sweat profusely, and it takes up extra time during a shower to wash it. i play basketball and whenever i run back to play defense, i have to brush my hair out of my eyes before i could do anything else every single play.

Agreed,it's a hassle. Though the first time I shaved my long hair totally off, a long time ago,my sister couldn't stop laughing at me.!

Haha i have to do the same thing when im playing basketball for my team! but i really dont mind it.

but when im playing football…its kinda a bitch to get in your helmet without it going into your eyes.
