I shall allow you to draw your own conclusions, and leave the obvious sarcastic response to those who can find no other opportunities to exercise their most prodigious talents.
I think you are truly "fluent in sarcasm" when almost everything that comes out of your mouth is sarcastic. For instance, some of my friends and I have become so used to it, that we automatically go into "sarcasm" mode. You know you are fluent when someone asks you to pass them the salt and you instinctively shout "NO!" and hand them the salt anyway.
who cares? its sounds better than "i am proficient in the style of humor called sarcasm"
Re: Jana
So true!
[About the salt comment!]
cuase "I am proficient in sarcasm" sounds so fantastic….
holy shit… i do that all the time… except i don't shout it, i look the person in the eye and calmly say it while i reach for what they asked for
Kinda missing the point I bit, I feel…
That was an outstanding display of sarcasm sara, I applaud your display of fluency.
If sarcasm is your love language then It is possible to be fluent in it.
Yes, Fluentness is Sarcasm is posible… hence why we're all here. So, per se, we are all fluent in Sarcasm.
I am in awe of your marvelous grasp on the English language and of your use of logic. Fascinating.
Is it possible to slap everyone here through my computer?
…
…
…
Dammit, no.
You people astound me at the ability to talk about a completely useless topic. I love it.
Guess. Sarcasm or not.
I think I, and probably most other people here, am only in this group to display my love for a sarcastic humor. I don't think it matters what we talk about in it. Most of these topics are pointless… but what else do we talk about in a group about sarcasm. I think this is justa way for people who read your profile to see that you have a sense of humor.
i always say no to someone and do what they ask anyway… i thought it was just me though. i'm glad i'm not the only one.
fluent is the right word here. while it may not be a "language" per se, it takes skill and mastery to perfect. you can be suck at sarcasm the same way you can suck at say, french or german. it is an art form, but more of an artistic language, spoken and understood by only a select few.
What is the difference between wit and sarcasm?
I am confused, please oh mighty Avatar's of knowledge, un-befuddle me!
Sarcasm means literally: To bite in the manner of dogs.
Wit is to be in the company of someone. ex: I am wit you.
The second definition was a joke, I figured you would need me to tell you that… since you used un-befuddle.
There is also a wonderful invention out, you may have heard of it. It is still relatively new, so maybe not. Wait what is it called… (searches)… ah, here it is… I still have the box, it is called: Dictionary. Yes. It may be of use to you. I don't know if they have them in Canada, but give it a go, A?
I stand in awe of your superior intellect. Who would have thought of looking up sarcasim in the dictonary? While we're at it, let's look up 'fluent', 'slap', 'crazy', 'insane', 'demented', 'demonized', and 'cremepuff' as well?
I believe it's spelled eh? when you're speaking Canadian.
Bit slow, there; fluent's already been done.
I never would've thought to look up sarcasim in a dictonary. Sarcasm in a dictionary, yes, but that's entirely different.
Yes, well most of this group are quite fluent in it. They reallly are. No really, they are. Umm. Well, as for me I'm not fluent at all. I don't even know what that means. Ahem. Ahem. Okay, I guess sarcasm is something that is awarded by a HE authority. You all must have degrees in sarcasm with the amount of it here. BSc (Hons) Sarcasm or MA in Sarcastic Services.
How about the world's first sarcastic restaurant. Service with sarcasm.
You'll enjoy our enthusiasm.
Yes, we don't cook the stakes.
The toilets are not always cleaned.
We also don't wash the plates. Why would we. We get the dog to do it.
I think it's possible to be fluent in the language of "hypocritically annoy everybody by resurrecting the oldest post (6 weeks old) possible"
:O I think it's a great idea And who the hell is making fun of Canadians up there?!?!
Agreed. I put forth that the raising of old posts from obvious dead-ness is immoral, and also degrading to the overall appearance of the group. Will Anyone second?
Here, here!
I third the motion. Let's put it to vote. Who does say that I should not have done what I did intentionally do?
