in 1980 Reagan announced he was going to drill domestically for oil. the price for a barrel of oil immediately dropped below $10.

in 2002 Bush announced he was going to drill domestically for oil. the price for a barrel of oil immediately dropped below $30.

today the price for an oil barrel is over a $100.

Reagan and Bush didn't even have to drill for oil, all they did was just announce. This is because opec nations know what most Americans don't. In the mainland of America we hav oil reserves the size of kuwait (yes thats a country) If we dont want to hurt the enviroment dont drill in protected habbitats. We have so much land rich with oil we drill other places.

Alaska is full of oil and it is approximately 3 times the size of texas. we actually wont hurt habbitats or the environment there because we will be drilling well below the surface and the pipelines will be below the surface. many organisms will gather around the pipelines for warmth and it will help many organisms survive.

Canada started drilling and their currency sky rocketed.

Energy independence can be done by drilling our own oil. No longer do we have to listen to extremists like jugo chaves or radical leaders of the middle east.

Oil may or may not be the future, but it is the present and near future. with hybrid technology and other sources for energy being invented now is the time for the US to sell our oil. We have such an abundance to keep our nation satisfyed, while still exporting.

Now is the time to drill, our economy could use the boost. Everyone in our nation will benefit from gas prices well below what we are paying right now. probably less than a dollar or atleast half of what we are paying right now.

when there is more supply it creates more competition. more competition creates lower prices.

its really Bill Clintons fault we are having gas prices this high. no other president ever allowed dependance on foreign nations for energy to rise like he did.

drilling is not in the democrats agenda. don't be fooled by their energy independence propaganda. write to your congress man/woman because McCain doesn't seem interested in drilling either.

This is our nation, our future, our economy. Save it by drilling for oil.

gas is pretty high… professionals expect the gas will drop down to 90 cent/litre because they found oil companies in a role of boosting the price.

Yeah, there are huge oil fields in the Gulf, but no companies know how to safely and efficiently tap them (yet). Chevron CEO was talking about how they're trying to develop the technology, so we'll see how that works out.

That's about $2 per litre or $8 to the gallon(!) and this isn't a current trend – its been that way for the last 2 years.
you guys should stop fighting to lower your prices and just accept the reality that gas prices must go up
